Abstract

ABSTRACT

Radicalism is a complexity problem that does not stand alone. Almost all of them have highly political and ideological grounding. Just like an ideology that continues to bind, it takes the path of religious to justify all acts of anarchy. So Islam is not same as radicalism. Actually, the religious radicalism is phenomenon that commonly arise in only religion. Radicalism relates intimately with fundamentalism, which is marked by the return of people to the basics of religion. Fundamentalism is a kind of ideology that makes religion as a lifeline by societies and individuals. Usually fundamentalism will be accompanied by radicalism and violence, when the returns of freedom to the religion has been blocked by the social and political situation that surrounding community.
