Implementasi Metode Inquiry dan Hypnosis Perspektif Pendidikan Islam Klasik (Studi Kasus di Sekolah Menengah Atas Immersion Ponorogo)

This research aims to identify the advantages and deficiencies of inquiry and hypnosis methods as learning method in National Immersion Senior High School, Ponorogo based on classical Islamic education’s perspective. This research uses qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The result of this research shows that inquiry method has many advantages in the aspects of cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Inquiry method similar with discussion and rihlah method in perspective of classical Islamic education. Whereas hypnosis method is only effective in the cognitive aspect because of this method student able to understand the learning materials fastly which is explained by teacher. Through hypnosis method the situation of the class is more conducive and quiter. However, hypnosis method was unknown in the concept of classical Islamic education. But, the implementation of hypnosis method is not contradictory with the concept of classical Islamic education because it is applied to optimize the student’s understanding on the learning materials and there is no magical element in it.   Keywords: Inquiry, Hypnosis, Classical Islamic Education
