Abstract

This study presents Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) approach could be applied to improve the integrated language skills in secondary schools. TBLT supports the use of task to activate students acquisition processes and to promote target language use. A task is a classroom activity involving learners interaction in which the main attention is on the meaning more than on the form of the target language. This approach may also overcome some problems which students have such as, lack of ability in communication, limited vocabulary, being afraid to mistakes and unconfident. Therefore, this approach could be apprlicable for teaching English as foreign language in Indonesia context.
