Abstract
Authentic Assessment in Arabic teaching needs to be developed by a teacher to evaluate the students thoroughly. Authentic assessment aims to evaluate students abilities in real-world contexts. Authentic assessment does not encourage rote learning and passive test-taking. But it focuses on students analytical skills, ability to integrate what they learn, creativity, ability to work collaboratively, and written and oral expression skills. in Arabic there are four skills that must be assessed with authentic assessment that is listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills and writing skills. in this article will be discussed about the definition, purpose, characteristics and examples of authentic assessment in Arabic teachingReferences
