Abstract

The aims of this study is to determine the relationship between students 'spatial abilities and students' mathematics learning achievement in the material of building flat side spaces. The subjects studied were only limited to class VIII consisting of one class and numbering 12 students. To test the proposed hypothesis, data collection was carried out using test techniques, where there were two tests used, namely tests for spatial abilities and tests of students' mathematics learning achievement in the material of building a flat side space. To find out whether the data is normally distributed or not, a normality test is performed using the formula c2 (chi squared). In the analysis of the data with a significant level of 5%, it was found that for the spatial ability test c2hitung = 0,17<c2tabel= 0,19 and for the learning achievement test to build space c2hitung = 0,12<c2tabel= 0,19, so It can be concluded that the data obtained from the results of both tests are normally distributed. To find out the relationship between spatial ability and student learning achievement in the material on the flat side building, the Product Moment correlation technique statistical formula is used. From the data analyst, the correlation coefficient value is 0.93 so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between students 'spatial ability to students' mathematics learning achievement. material for building class VIII MTs.
