Abstract

Pembelajaran kontekstual adalah konsep belajar yang membantu guru mengkaitkan antara materi yang diajarkanya dengan situasi dunia nyata siswa dan mendorong siswa membuat hubungan antara pengetahuan yang dimilikinya dengan penerapan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam proses mengajar, hal terpenting adalah pencapaian pada tujuan yaitu agar siswa mampu memahami sesuatu berdasarkan pengalaman belajarnya. pemahaman adalah suatu cara yang sistematis dalam mengartikan, menafsirkan, menerjemahkan atau menyatakan sesuatu dengan caranya sendiri setelah sesuatu itu diketahui dan diingat. Dengan menghubungkan antara apa yang peserta didik (siswa) pelajari dan bagaimana pengetahuan itu akan digunakan untuk memahami konsep-konsep akademis (seperti konsep-konsep matematika, fisika, atau biologi), tentunya sangat berguna bagi kehidupan mereka di masa datang atau saat mereka bermasyarakat ataupun saat di tempat kerja kelak yaitu dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual (Contextual Teaching and Learning). Dengan demikian, hasil pembelajaran diharapkan lebih bermakna bagi siswa.
