PENDIDIKAN ISLAM SEBAGAI AGEN OF CHANGE

Abstract

The rapid rate of development in society often brings about changes in the pattern of socio-cultural and economic relations in humanity itself. Often these changes cause uproar from the social side if the preparation (early guidance) is not carried out as well as possible. One of the preparations that can be made is to improve the education pathway and make it relevant in such a way that it is able to answer the needs of society and is able to read the signs of the times. Education in this country is also expected to be able to answer or meet the needs of society and be able to catch the signs of the times. However, the problems faced by Islamic educational institutions to get there are not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, there are many challenges that must be faced and solutions immediately sought. This paper presents various challenges to Islamic education along with offers of efforts that need to be made.
