Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of per capita income and poverty level on the human development index (HDI) in East Java Province. The data used is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency, East Java. The secondary data used is Panel data for 2019-2021 according to the East Java Province level. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. From the results of the analysis, it is known that the level of poverty and income per capita has an effect on the HDI. The level of poverty and income per capita has a negative effect on the HDI, each with a regression coefficient of -3.257+3.027. Per capita income and poverty level have a positive effect on HDI, with regression coefficients of 0.005 and 0.953, respectively. The variable that has a very large effect on HDI is poverty.
