Abstract

ZIS has become a source of state financial income which has a very important role, among others, as a means of developing the Islamic religion, developing the world of education and science as well as for other social welfare purposes. Infaq is one solution to solving the problem of poverty in society, overcoming the social gap that occurs between poor and rich people as well as in the context of equalizing community welfare and improving other quality of life.

In Indonesia, there are several Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ) on a local and national scale, namely Baitul Mal Hidayatullah (BMH), Dompet Dhuafa, Amil Zakat Institution, Infaq and Sadaqah Nahdhatul Ulama (LAZISNU), Infaq Management Institute (LMI) and others, which plays a role in overcoming poverty and realizing prosperity through branch offices spread across various regions throughout the archipelago.

The Nahdhatul Ulama Amil Zakat, Infaq and Alms Institution (LAZISNU), one of which is the National Amil Zakat Institution which manages zakat, infaq, shadaqah and waqf under the auspices of the Nahdlatul Ulama organization which was ratified at the 31st NU congress in 2004 in Solo which is dedicated to helping welfare and independence of the people. The reason behind the choice of the Nahdhatul Ulama Amil Zakat, Infaq and Alms Institution, later abbreviated as LAZISNU MWC NU Kalidawir as the research site, is because LAZISNU itself has a role as a social institution which aims to empower the community by utilizing resources and public participation, distributing and regulating zakat management, infaq, shadaqah and waqf are not oriented towards collecting profits for organizational administrators. Seeing the large amount of funds collected and the enthusiasm of the people of Kalidawir District in donating, to optimize the function of zakat, infaq and shadaqah (ZIS), especially in the aspects of distribution and utilization, it is necessary to have a contextual understanding of the utilization of NU coin funds so that they can overcome problems in social life and the economic welfare of the people based on aspects of equality and sufficiency. Zakat, infaq, sadaqah and waqf are the most popular Islamic philanthropic practices that have entered and developed in the archipelago.
