Abstract

The Qur'an is not a collection of science books. However, if we examine more deeply the aspects of science which are often seen as processes, products and ethical paradigms which in their development require a foundation, including the philosophy of science through three approaches, namely metaphysical, epistemological and axiological, the Qur'an is basically in the form of ideas as in the concept of idealism in rationalism. These ideas are then reproduced in the form of Arabic readings and writings (text) which are empirical. This view then gave rise to a radical concept of the Qur'an as a cultural product. From this concept the Qur'an can be used as an object of knowledge. Thus, there are two understandings of the Qur'an, namely the Qur'an in its meaning as revelation and as a cultural product. As a revelation, the Qur'an is sacred and eternal. In the western conception, to borrow Martin Heidegger's term, holiness and eternity are termed transcendent-objective-universal. Therefore, the relationship between the Qur'an and science contains three dimensions, namely scientific inspiration, hypotheses and scientific analysis and objects of knowledge
