LIBERALISME DALAM WACANA KEISLAMAN BIDANG IDEOLOGI HUKUM, POLITIK DAN PENDIDIKAN

Abstract

Liberalism comes as a response from fundamentalism movement. Liberalism offers a concept of freedom to think and to judge in understanding Islamic study that is wide and universal. Rationality and flexibility are main keys to understand religion. In politics, this movement reduces the existing of a special system (khilafah) to command an authority. People are free to decide their direction and form of politics. This movement has actually begun since Mu’tazilah ideology existed in the beginning period of Islam history.  At the moment, the liberalism movement keeps going with the rise and fall of it. This movement is suspected as the West follower that intends to keep Muslim away from their ideology and decorate the rise and fall of its dynamics. This article tries to photograph the root of history and argumentation on Islam liberal movement since its first existing to its development in Indonesia, either in politics ideology, law or education.
