PERAN PEREMPUAN DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM PERSPEKTIF GENDER

Abstract

Gender, which means sex, is not due to biological differences and not the God nature, but it was created by men and women through long socio-cultural processes. Gender equality is equality conditions of men and women to obtain the right and opportunities as human beings, so they are  able to contribute and participate in the political, legal, economic, social, cultural, education, defense and national security as well as similarities in benefiting the development. In education, Islam orders both men and women to bookish knowledge and they are not a fool. From the Qur’an verses, it can be identified the roles and characteristics of women such as a servant of Allah Swt, wives, mothers, educators, learners, the first school (madrasatul ula), implementing various Islamic education methods, Islamic education resource materials and as good environment for the development of Islamic education for their children.
