THE DIFFERENCE OF STUDENT READING ACHIEVEMENT BEFORE AND AFTER USING CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING AT SMA PRIMAGANDA BULUREJO DIWEK JOMBANG

Abstract
This study is purposed to know the hypothesis result of students reading achievement before and after implementation of contextual teaching and learning method and to anlyze differences of students learning outcomes. The design of the study was experimental in the form of one group pretest and posttest design. The samples of this study were taken from the population of the first grade students of SMA Primaganda Jombang (second semester) in academic year of 2012/2013. The result of the study indicates that the students reading achievement before and after treatment is different significantly. Proved by the analysis of the hypothesis using paired sample t-test calculation, the obtained the results is tvalue > ttable (22.270 > 1.697) and sig < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It is concluded that contextual teaching and learning method is effective in increasing students reading achievement and the students reading achievement is significanly difference.
