PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DALAM PEMIKIRAN IBNU KHALDUN

Abstract

Arab historian Ibnu Khaldun is famous as the master of Islamic sociology. His scientific monumental work entitled Muqaddimah focusing his attention to the education. Ibnu Khaldun thought of education started from his an encyclopedia presentation. This is a way to open up the knowledge theory and a general presentation about social, history and epistemology based on the knowledge development. According to Ibnu Khaldun, knowledge is clustered into two, such as the rational and traditional knowledge. Rational knowledge is the knowledge gained from the good comes from the natural thought. And the subject matter, methods, results and historical development of traditional knowledge made by power or a ruler. In addition, Ibnu Khaldun also states that education is an effort to maintain and bequeath the exist and dynamic values in the community. This is in line with its ashabiyyah theory, which is education is a process of human civilization, with the aim of building an advanced and brilliant community.
