REVIEW KAJIAN TERHADAP KH. M. HASYIM ASY’ARI

Abstract

Islamic civilization decline was the impact of Islamic education setback continually. This decline occured simultaneously with Western nation progress since Renaissance Movement. The muslim community attitude in responding Western modernization has big effect to development of education, so there are many rushes held by each cohort. This proved by modern or traditional educational institutions have been established. The purpose of establishing them was based on it background, especially after colonialist came and offered western secular education system. Many efforts of critical thinking to answer the questions have been done before the Indonesia independence. One of them was KH. Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari’s thought. Many researchers are interested in his thought because he was as Islamic movement leader in Indonesia, the founder of Tebuireng boarding house and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). This article reviewed the studies were done by researchers toward  Kiai Hasyim Asy’ari from religious, politic, social, education, organization, Islamic law and ethics point of view.
