UPAYA PONDOK PESANTREN JABAL HIKMAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEREKONOMIAN MASYARAKAT DESA SUWANGI TIMUR KECAMATAN SAKRA

Abstract

Islamic boarding school is a social organization that grows in the midst of society is an important asset that is expected to play an active role in fostering both the social, social and economic community. Business development through Islamic boarding schools for example will help a lot to improve the community's economy. This research is a qualitative descriptive study , a research that aims to describe the efforts made by Jabal Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in improving the economy of East Suwangi Village community. Respondents in this study were boarding school leaders, administrators, teachers and staff as well as East Suangi villagers who benefited from the efforts of the Jabal Hikmah boarding school. Data collection using interview, documentation and observation methods . From the results of research and analysis conducted that Jabal Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in its journey as an educational institution located in the community, trying to build community economy by doing how many things, namely providing productive economic training and forming business units of Islamic boarding school. The training provided included training in sewing skills, attending workshops and training in management of the LM3 business unit. The training is a forerunner to the formation of business groups Jabal Wisdom. While the business units formed are the LM3 Jabal Hikmah group, the goat breeding group and the sewing group. These business groups have given positive results for the people's economy. While the obstacles felt by the management of Jabal Hikmah Islamic Boarding School are, among others, in supporting the teaching and learning process , still experiencing limited funds for physical development and educational support facilities, and limited land as a location for the Jabal Hikmah business unit .
