TANTANGAN KEHIDUPAN BERAGAMA DI LOMBOK
Abstract
Lombok dikenal dengan sebutan pulau “1000 masjidâ€, sebagai pertanda bahwa masyarakatnya sangat fanatik dalam menjalankan ajaran agama Islam. Indikasi ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya jumlah masjid dan mushalla, serta maraknya pengajian-pengajian (majlis ta‘lÄ«m) yang disampaikan oleh tuan guru di daerah tersebut. Namun demikian, predikat sebagai masyarakat religius yang fanatik bukan berarti tidak ada tantangan dalam kehidupan beragama. Dari tinjauan agama dan kepercayaan, masyarakat Lombok didiami oleh masyarakat yang heterogen. Hampir semua agama yang diakui di Indonesia ada di Lombok walaupun dengan jumlah yang sangat kecil. Keberadaan agama-agama dan kepercayaan tersebut seharusnya bisa menjadi modal social (social capital) di dalam membangun masyarakat Nusa Tenggara Barat yang BerdayaSaing. Secara umum, tantangan di dalam kehidupan beragama ini biasanya muncul di tengah-tengah masyarakat dalam bentuk konflik dan ketegangan-ketegangan, baik yang terjadi antar umat beragama, maupun dengan umat yang seagama.
