Abstract

This study aims to examine the ethics of preaching as referred to in the Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah [2]: verse 44 and its relation to today's da'wah. So this research is essential to be discussed. The results and discussion show that the Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah [2]: verse 44 has indicated the ethics of a preacher to become a role model through the balagiy element in the editorial of the verse using IstifhamTaubikh. The form of a question containing criticism is addressed to religious leaders who command goodness while they themselves do not do it. Through this research, a common thread can be drawn that the call for da'wah without a role model from the da'i has received direct criticism from Allah SWT. However, it's sad that today's da'wah actors only make da'wah as industrial content and material so that the essence and ethics of da'wah are lost. It is recommended for commentators, hadith experts and communication experts to expand the sub-material of this research, so that it can significantly influence da'wah actors to be careful and become role models for their da'wah targets. The method used in this study is a type of qualitative research using library research. The results of this discussion show that the most important ethic of preaching is to be a role model for what is preached.
