Abstract

This writing discusses the urgency of strengthening faith in education as a response to the dominance of positivist and materialist paradigms in modern educational systems. The positivist approach, which emphasizes rationality and empiricism, has separated science from spiritual values, while materialism confines reality to physical aspects alone. This condition potentially weakens students’ religious awareness and leads to a spiritual crisis amid the rapid development of science and technology. This study employs a library research method with a descriptive-critical analysis of relevant literature sources. The findings reveal that the materialistic-positivistic paradigm in science education marginalizes faith-based values within the learning process. To address this issue, it is necessary to integrate spiritual values across all subjects, particularly science, and strengthen teachers’ roles as moral and religious exemplars. This writing concludes that reinforcing faith through an integrative educational approach can develop learners who are not only intellectually competent but also spiritually grounded and morally resilient in the modern era.
