Abstract

This study explores the deconstruction of the knowledge dichotomy among madrasah teachers through a workshop on integrative mathematics word problems. The primary issue is the mechanistic mindset separating mathematical logic from Islamic values. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with seven teachers at MI Guntur, Purworejo, data were gathered via observation, document analysis of fraction problems, and interviews. Findings reveal a paradigm shift from superficial formalistic integration to substantial integration. Fraction materials effectively internalized the value of justice ('Adalah) when linked to Guntur’s local context. Despite linguistic constraints in narratives, this study proves that deconstructing the knowledge dichotomy strengthens teachers' professional identity. Consequently, value-based numeracy integration should be institutionalized to foster a holistic academic culture in madrasahs.
