Pendidikan Islam Pada Era Reformasi

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of Islamic education in the Reform era in Indonesia, focusing on public schools, madrasahs, Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren), and study groups (majlis taklim). The literature review approach was used to identify relevant data sources, including articles, books, journals, and documents related to post-Reform Islamic education. Data were analyzed using literature study methods to understand the changes in the Islamic education system and the challenges faced. The results show the positive impact of the Reform era, including integration with the national education system, institutional autonomy, curriculum diversification, and responsiveness to contemporary challenges. This success is reflected in the improved quality of education, integration of Islamic values in learning, and social empowerment through Islamic educational institutions. The government has also implemented various policies to ensure the recognition and integration of Islamic religious education within the national education system, including the National Education Standards (SNP) and the merging of public schools with religious characteristics. Future strategies involve social, political, cultural, and socio-cultural dimensions. The formalization of Islamic values in state policies, government oversight, cultural awareness development, and community building based on Islamic values are the focus of these strategies. By integrating Islamic values into daily life and implementing these strategies, it is expected that Islamic education will play a significant role in the development of the people and the nation of Indonesia in the future.
