Abstract

Cash waqf and productive waqaf are innovative concepts in the development of waqf, which combine Islami cphilan thropic traditions with contemporary needs. Cash waqf creates a new model by inviting individuals or institutions to set aside a certain amount of funds directly as a form of waqf. Meanwhile, productive waqaf involves investing waqf funds to generate sustainable income, with the aim of improving community welfare. The implementation of cash waqf involves active community participation in donating funds directly, which are then managed and distributed to good projects. This approach allows flexibility in the use of waqf funds according to urgent needs, such as humanitarian assistance, education or health. Apartfromthat, cash waqf also promotes public awareness of social responsibility and the obligation to contribute to sustainable development. Productive waqf, on the other hand, aims at strategic investment of waqf funds to create added economic value. Waqf funds are invested in income-generating projects, such as agricultural businesses, manufacturing companies, or commercial properties. Profits generated from these investments can be used to finance social and humanitarian projects, creating a sustainable cycle that empowers communities economically. In the context of implementing cash waqf and productive waqf, it is important to involve Islamic financial institutions, the government and society collectively. This research presents a comprehensive review of the implementation of cash waqf and productive waqf, highlighting its positive aspects in creating social, economic and humanitarian impacts. By understanding the potential and challenges involved, society can optimize the role of waqf as an important instrument in building a sustainable and empowered society.
