Abstract

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is generally defined as the ability to control one’s own and other’s emotion under a particular situation. Family factors are one of the backgrounds that could impact to an individual's EI. Family life is the first school for emotional learning. Healthy family functions are facilitated through open communication by forming a context of positive change, insight and development. Parents not only teach children through the things that parents say and do directly to their children, but also in the models they offer to deal with their own feelings. Children who have high EI directly will create a good family environment. Then a good family environment can lead to a healthy life for family members.
