Abstract

This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique uses the method of interview, observation, questionnaire, and documentation. While the data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research on the use of whatsapp as a learning medium during the Covid 19 pandemic at SDN Sambirejo II, Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency, which were carried out by classroom teachers in learning activities that included planning, implementation and evaluation. Then the features that are often used are photos, videos, documents, WhatsApp groups, and direct calls. Barriers to the use of WhatsApp as a learning medium during the Covid 19 pandemic at SDN Sambirejo II, Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency are a) Signal interference, b) Not all students understand the tasks and materials given c) Lack of interaction between teachers and other students and d) Fast mobile memory full. The solutions to obstacles to the use of WhatsApp as a learning medium during the Covid 19 pandemic at SDN Sambirejo II, Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency are a) Extending the delivery period of assignments b) Making learning materials simpler and easier to understand c) Interaction through video calls or face to face and assistance from parents d) utilizing other media such as Google Classroom, but not leaving the main role of using WhatsApp.   Keywords: Whatsapp, learning media and the Covid-19 pandemic
