Abstract

The era of digitalization in education has brought significant changes to the learning process and student behavior. The wide access to information provides opportunities to improve the quality of education, but it also presents new challenges in the form of moral degradation due to exposure to content that is not aligned with Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' noble character in the midst of digital technology development. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation of teachers and students in digitally-based secondary schools. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers play a strategic role as educators, moral exemplars, facilitators of values, and controllers of digital influences. Through exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), the integration of Islamic values into a technology-based curriculum, as well as digital literacy PAI teachers are able to instill values of honesty, responsibility, politeness, and empathy in students. Moreover, a learning strategy that combines a spiritual approach with technology has been proven effective in internalizing noble character values among the digital generation. This study emphasizes that the success of character building in the digital era is largely determined by the ability of PAI teachers to wisely adapt technology without losing the essence of Islamic values.
