Abstrak
This study seeks to explore two key conceptual pairs in the study of ushul fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), namely the principle of absolute and muqayyad, and the principle of mujmal and mubayyan. These two concepts hold a crucial position in the methodology of legal istinbath and serve as the foundation for understanding Islamic texts, particularly the Quran. The primary focus of this study is to provide a more in-depth explanation of the application of these two principles in the interpretation process, thereby helping to produce a more precise and contextual understanding of Quranic verses.
This research employs library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from classical literature (turats) and contemporary works discussing the principles of ushul fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), along with a comparative analysis of the opinions of scholars. This analysis reveals that the principles of absolute and absolute (muthlaq-muqayyad) and absolute and absolute (mujmal-mubayyan) serve not only as technical tools for understanding law but also as instruments for balancing universal and situational interpretations within the Qur'anic text. Thus, this paper not only highlights the theoretical differences between these two principles but also illustrates how a deeper understanding of them can broaden the horizons of Qur'anic interpretation in a comprehensive and contextual manner, in accordance with the dynamics of modern Muslim life.
Keywords: absolute and absolute (muqayyad), absolute and absolute (mujmal-mubayyan), Islamic legal determination
