KH. A. WAHID HASYIM DAN PEMBAHARUAN PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN

Abstract

As education institute based on Moslem religious community, pesantren is always demanded to do process of adaptation and innovation in order to be able to create alumnus that has capability and ready to serve society. Innovation process is not done by revolution, but evolution. One of figures of education renewal is KH. Abdul Wahid Hasyim, that renewed system of education, curriculum, institution, up to knowledge access in Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. The innovation he did for years before brings big aspects for pesantren education and also Indonesian Islamic education. Based on his idea, it is described the hope that pesantren can act and answer Moslem religious community problems in every aspects agree with their needs. What he has done for renewal of Islamic education, especially for pesantren, is a manifestation of Islamic education mission that is everlasting and unlimited by territorial or even society cultural sociology.
