SUHRAWARDI : KONSTRUKTOR FILSAFAT ILUMINASI

Abstract

Suhrawardi, who is signaled bringing a new direction in philosophy development, is a philosopher with illumination ideology (isyraqiyyah). His success to unify between philosophy and tashawuf makes this philosophy having very rational fundamental of epistemology. Kinds of weaknesses on this ideology were answered very well by illumination which is well known as ‘ilmu hudhuri, because this knowledge is based on self-consciousness which involves the unity of objects that become main and fundamental knowledge. In this process, God’s helps to get knowledge is much needed. Intuitive expressing (kasyf) is the only convinced cognition source. This philosophy did not appear perfect immediately in expert hand like another knowledge building. Likewise, the expert of illumination which has long history also becomes successful man like Plato, Hermes, Empedokles, Phytagoras and Agathadaimon in the West and Jamasph, Farashaustra, Fuzurjumhr and Zoroaster in the East.
