URGENSI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PEMBENTUKAN PEMIMPIN BANGSA DI INDONESIA

Abstrak

Accustoming character is responsibility for all. It is not always a school duty, but it is the duty of family to the president of this country as well. But, on the other side, moslem scientists generally think that religion is a set of doctrine and belief or a group of norm and God’s instruction which is universal and absolute for His truth. These make the condition of character education cannot move further. The efforts being applied nowadays will be nothing if stakeholders of education in Indonesia do not take a part in actualizing a valuable education. On the contrary, they are accused for mistakes which make education in Indonesia now being worse. Honesty, as the most important element in character education, becomes “commander in war†in its process. Without honesty, other excellent characters are nothing because honesty is the fundamental of whole life. It is the main condition for the growth and development of society which is based on principle trusting, affection and helping one another. Without sense of trust, it is impossible for this nation to activate economics and trade productively and it is impossible to actualize peaceful and tranquil society. To bring about them, honesty must be introduced early since at home.
