Abstract

The writing of dissertations by postgraduate students at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang faces significant challenges in implementing research designs. This study aims to identify the primary obstacles encountered by students, including limited understanding of methodologies, difficulties in data analysis, and insufficient access to literature. A literature review is employed to analyze relevant solutions, such as intensive training in research methodology, strengthening academic supervision systems, and expanding access to scientific resources. Moreover, the integration of Islamic values into research design is given special attention to ensure both ethical and scientific relevance. This article provides strategic recommendations to improve dissertation quality through individual approaches and institutional policies. The research findings are expected to enhance students' capacity to produce high-quality dissertations, increase their academic contributions in the context of Islamic education, and support the development of more inclusive academic policies
