Abstract

Bullying behavior in the madrasa environment is a serious problem that has a negative impact on students' mental, social and academic development. This research aims to analyze the factors that cause bullying behavior at MTsN 1 Bukittinggi City. The research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews given to students, teachers and school staff. The results of the research show that bullying behavior at MTsN 1 Bukittinggi City is influenced by several main factors, namely: (1) family factors, including parenting patterns and family socio-economic conditions; (2) peer factors, where pressure from peer groups often influences students to engage in bullying; (3) mass media factor, uncontrolled use of social media. With a deeper understanding of the factors that cause bullying, it is hoped that more effective prevention and intervention steps can be implemented to reduce and prevent bullying behavior in madrasah
