Eksistensi Perguruan Tinggi Islam di Indonesia
Abstract
This research discusses the existence of Islamic Religious Universities (PTKI) in
Indonesia through a study of the ideal foundation, goals, challenges, and strategies for
developing its existence. PTKI in Indonesia is based on Islamic values that combine
science and religion as the basis for building the character of students who are faithful
and pious. The objectives of PTKI include the formation of a generation that has
academic competence as well as strong morals, so as to be able to make a positive
contribution to society. However, PTKI faces significant challenges, both internally,
such as limited human resources, management and funding, and externally, such as the
influence of globalisation and various ideologies that can threaten the values of Islamic
education
