PERSPEKTIF HUKUM ISLAM TENTANG PEMAKAIAN SISTEM SPAYLATER DALAM PEMBAYARAN ONLINE

Abstract

The Spaylater system, a service provided by Shopee, facilitates online shopping payments with delays. This service is considered a form of credit in Islamic law. Users can activate and use Spaylater to shop and pay according to the selected tempo. Although there are fines for late payments, many users find Spaylater helpful in meeting daily needs and emergency situations. From the perspective of Islamic law, there are two opinions about buying and selling credit like Spaylater. The first opinion allows an increase in the price as compensation for the delay in payment, while the second opinion forbids it because it is considered usury. However, the majority of scholars allow additional prices in the Spaylater system as compensation for the convenience provided. Suggestions for using Spaylater include improving consumer security and privacy by Shopee, user caution in making transactions, and consideration of financial capabilities before using this payment system. Thus, Spaylater can be used in a safe manner and in accordance with the principles of Islamic law.
