Abstract

Internalization of the values ​​of multicultural education is an attempt to introduce the diversity of Indonesian society. Internalization of multicultural values ​​aims to provide knowledge to students so they are able to practice democratic attitudes, humanism and pluralism in the school environment. This study aims to determine the process of internalizing the values ​​of multicultural education in school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Tosari. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The main informants in this study were school principals and curricula deputy heads. For data validation techniques, researchers used triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that the values ​​of multicultural education instilled in schools are: the values ​​of democracy, humanism and pluralism. The process of internalizing the values ​​of multicultural education at SMP Negeri 1 Tosari is carried out in three stages, namely, the value transformation stage, the value transaction stage, and the value transinternalization stage. These three stages are implemented using exemplary methods, habituation and experience.
