KARAKTERISTIK PEMIKIRAN HADITS MUSTHAFA AZAMI DAN KONTER ATAS KRITIK ORIENTALIS

Abstrak

Orientalist discourse in Islamic studies needs to be considered. One of the targets for orientalists is the study of hadith. The absence of a guarantee of wakefulness such as the Qur'an creates an interesting gap to study. This research uses the Library Research method by taking from existing sources. The formulation of the problem in this study is to find out how the characteristics of Musthafa Azami's thinking in the study of hadith and its methodology in countering orientalist arguments. The results showed that Musthafa Azami's thoughts had a slightly western style. And he chose the method of comparison in seeing the authenticity of a hadith. The methodology that Mustafa Azami uses in countering the orientalist argument is by examining classical texts. And also criticizes the theories used by orientalists in using the Prophet's Hadith as a source of Islamic law.
