PERAN PENDIDIKAN DALAM MEMBANGUN PERADABAN ISLAM (Telaah Historis-Epistemologis)

Abstrak

Islamic civilization is a civilization built by education through studies in Islamic science produced by the Islamic worldview. Therefore, the rebuilding of Islamic civilization must start from the development of Islamic education and science. Material and economic factors determine the setting of human life, while what directs a person to respond to the situation he is facing are educational and scientific factors. Muslims must direct their educational targets towards developing individuals who understand their good position before God, before society and within themselves. In other words, community development must be based on the concept of civilized individual development. According to al-Attas, the formation of civilized individuals, strategically, can start from university education.
