Pengaruh Kinerja Pustakawan Terhadap Minat Baca Siswa di SMA Negeri 4 Karawang
Abstract
The librarian’s activities are basically managing, maintaining and developing the library according to the needs of students/visitors, creating quality, skilled and competent human resources. Based on the description above, the formulation of the problem in this research is: 1) How is the performance of librarians at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang, 2) What is the reading interest of students at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang, 3) How much influence does the performance of librarians have on students’ interest in reading at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang. The aims of this research are: 1) To determine the performance of librarians at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang, 2) To determine the reading interest of students at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang, 3) To determine the influence of librarian performance on students’ interest in reading at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques namely documentation and questionnaires. The results of this research show that the performance of librarians at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang is in the “good” category at 78.83 percent with an average score of 47.30 and a standard division of 5.455. Meanwhile, students’ reading interest at SMA Negeri 4 Karawang is in the “high” category at 81.00 percent with an average score of 48.60 and a standard division of 3.801. In the results of this research, the constant value is 83.046, while the regression coefficient figure is 0.312. This figure means that with 1% of librarian performance, students’ reading interest will increase by 0.312. Therefore, it can be said that there is an influence of librarian performance on students’ reading interest. This can also be seen from the research hypothesis using Sig. 0.05. The Sig value obtained from this research is 0.004, where the Sig value is smaller than 0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted
