Abstract

This paper tries to explore the thoughts of KH. Hasyim Ash'ari in the book Adab Al-'Alim wa Al-Muta'allim and Sheikh Az-Zarnuji in the book Ta'lim Al-Muta'allim on the concept of value education. The research method used in compiling this paper is a literature that focuses on two books that have been mentioned with additional references from various books, journals and other research. It was found that education according to Kiai Hasyim is aimed at achieving happiness in this world and the hereafter. Meanwhile, according to Sheikh Az-Zarnuji, education is not only a process of transferring knowledge and skills, but the most important thing is the formation of character in students.
