IBN ‘ARABĪ DAN DOKTRIN WAHDAT AL-WUJŪD
Abstract
Di antara para tokoh-tokoh sufi yang tersohor, yakni tokoh sufi yang bernama Ibn ‘ArabÄ«, dalam jajaran tokoh sufi, nama Ibn ‘ArabÄ« selalu disebut-sebut sebagai tokoh kontroversial. Popularitas Ibnu ‘ArabÄ« sebagai sosok sufi ini karena pandangannya yang sama sekali berbeda dengan kebanyakan tokoh agama sezamannya, apalagi kalau dibandingkan dengan pandangan ahli syariat. Doktrinnya tentang wahdat al-wujÅ«d oleh sebagian orang juga dianggap sebagai panteistik bahkan dianggap kafir dan sesat. Ada dugaan kuat bahwa pemikiran dan perenungan wahdat al-wujÅ«d Ibn ‘ArabÄ« ini dipengaruhi oleh mistik India dalam doktrin “Brahmana†dan teori emanasi Plotinus yang panteistik. Juga ada yang menyebutnya bersumber dari paham stoisme, filonisme, neoplatonisme, Ismailiyyat dan meditasi-meditasi gnostik al-HallÄj. Tetapi, sejauhmana ide-ide itu begitu berpengaruh terhadap diri Ibn ‘ArabÄ« ataukah ia memiliki formulasi sendiri inilah yang perlu kita lihat.
