Abstract

Learnin Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the digital era faces increasingly complex dynamics along with changes in student characteristics, technological developments, and limitations in learning support facilities. Studies that specifically review the pedagogical strategies of IRE teachers in responding to these challenges, especially at the junior high school level in rural areas, are still relatively limited. This study aims to examine in depth the strategies implemented by IRE teachers in facing learning challenges in the digital era. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design conducted at SMPN 7 Kota Bima. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were analysed inductively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that PAI teachers applied strategies to strengthen technological competence, integrate digital media into learning, and internalise Islamic values through religious activities outside the classroom. The implementation of these strategies still faces obstacles in the form of limited technology training,  inadequate infrastructure, and low motivation among some students. These findings emphasise the need for systemic support to optimise PAI learning that is adaptive and relevant to the demands of the digital era.
