Strategi Pendidikan Dan Dakwah Syaikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari

Abstract

Kesultanan Banjar telah berdiri dengan Islam sebagai agama resminya sejak abad ke-15, namunpemeluk Islam hanyalah minoritas di tengah di kalangan penduduk.Mereka hanyalah terbatas orang-orang Melayu Islam dan belum mampu masuk secara cepat ke kalangan suku Dayak. Pun di kalangan kaum Melayu kepatuhan hanya terbatas pada pengucapan syahadat belaka. Tidak ada usaha yang serius dari para penguasa pada saat itu untuk memajukan kehidupan Islam. Namun ternyata mereka telah menggunakan tulisan Arab dalam berkorespondensi dengan penguasa-penguasa lain di Nusantara, pun juga dengan Inggris dan Belanda. Usaha-usaha  yang intens hanya di lakukan oleh para da’i keliling dalam melakukan islamisasi di wilayah ini, namun mengalami kemajuan yang sedikit. Adalah seorang ulama yang paling terkenal dari tanah Borneo yang berusaha melancarkan islamisasi secara kuat yaitu Muhammmad  Arsyad al- Banjari. Syekh keturunan Alawiyyin ini adalah tipikal seorang ulama yang berhasil ‘mengislamkan’ masyarakat  Banjar dengan gigih sehingga Islam mampu menjadi agama mayoritas di tanah Borneo tersebut. Salah kecermelangan strategi dakwahnya adalah dengan selalu menggandeng tangan penguasa dalam menghidupkan Islam di hati masyarakat. The Sultanate of Banjar has stood with Islam as its official religion since the 15th century, but Muslims are only a minority in the middle among the population. They are only limited to Muslim Malays and have not been able to quickly enter the Dayak tribe. Even among the Malays, obedience is limited to the recitation of the shahada. There was no serious attempt by the rulers at that time to advance the life of Islam. However, it turned out that they had used Arabic script in their correspondence with other rulers in the archipelago, also with England and the Netherlands. There are only intense efforts made by itinerant da'is in carrying out the Islamization of the region, but there has been little progress.             Is the most famous scholar from the land of Borneo who tried to carry out a strong Islamization, namely Muhammmad Arsyad al-Banjari. This Shaykh of Alawiyyin descent is a typical scholar who has succeeded in 'Islamizing' the Banjar people so persistently so that Islam is able to become the majority religion in the land of Borneo. One of the cleverness of his preaching strategy is to always take the hands of the authorities in reviving Islam in the hearts of the people.
