Abstrak
The background of this letter by the importance of a good study materials to teach the Arabic language in particular subjects to teach reading skills. This stems from the reading skills is essential skill of language skills. It is one of the most important acquisition of knowledge, culture and access to information from printed sources. The textbook is a major source of students to the educational process depends in the class on the textbook, therefore the reading material in the book of the Arabic language curriculum in 2013 Islamic high school need to evaluate, is the read material in this book take the basis for preparing textbooks for non-Arabic speakers or not. This study included literature research using content analysis method which is a kind of descriptive research method. The results indicated that the reading material in the book of the Arabic language curriculum 2013 in Islamic high school most of the four bases has become available only in a few. The positive and the negative side, so the possibility of reading material to provide students with the necessary own cultures and encourage them to use of the Arabic language to express their culture and exchange them with Arabic speakers. The negative side in the book of the Arabic language for tenth grade is not to provide Islamic culture and specificity of Arab culture and the presence of the error in the texts submitted and jam the lines of texts even stuck harakat between the line and not to adjust the texts of the three harakat as well as inflectional harakat and not to the proposal for the use of teaching aids and lack of sound recordings set.
