Jurnal Pendidikan Islam
Abstract
The development of digital technology has significantly changed the way humans obtain, process, and disseminate information. In the context of Islamic education, this phenomenon presents both significant opportunities and serious challenges to the formation of students' character and morals. The Qur'an, as the primary source of Islamic teachings, provides universal guidance on the importance of knowledge (al-ilm) and ethics in conveying information. These Qur'anic values are relevant to be re-examined in order to build digital literacy based on the principles of honesty, responsibility, and welfare. This study seeks to uncover the concept of digital literacy from the perspective of the Qur'an by examining verses related to knowledge and the delivery of information, such as QS. Al-Alaq [96]: 1–5, QS. Al-Hujurat [49]: 6, and QS. Az-Zumar [39]: 9. Through a qualitative method based on library research, this study examines classical and contemporary interpretations, including Tafsir al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab and Tafsir Ibn Kathir. This study shows that the concept of Qur'anic digital literacy not only emphasizes the aspect of technological skills, but also spiritual and moral aspects as a foundation for interacting in the digital space.
The research findings confirm that integrating Quranic values into modern Islamic education is essential for navigating the digital era, rife with the limitless flow of information. Islamic education needs to develop a digital literacy curriculum based on Quranic morals that fosters critical awareness, the ability to sort information, and ethical communication skills that are polite and responsible. Thus, the concept of Quranic digital literacy is a strategic solution for developing a generation of Muslims who are intellectually intelligent, spiritually mature, and civilized in their use of digital media.
