Abstract

This study aims to discuss and analyze the problems of learning Arabic and the solutions to these problems. While the approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Using Miles and Huberman analysis. The results of this study are that there are several kinds of problems found in learning Arabic at MTs. Al-Qodiri Jember and MA Al-Qodiri Jember namely (1) common problems that are commonly experienced in several other madrasas; (2) Special problems related to Arabic language include Arabic language rules, Arabic writing; (3) individual student problems, and (4) teacher or teacher problems. The solution steps to overcome some of the problems found are; First, a special problem is to add literature and insight or knowledge about Arabic language material, starting from phonetics, semantics, Uslub, language systems, Arabic language culture and also not emphasizing one skill over the other three skills.Second, the problem of learning Arabic rules is to start learning the rules by adjusting the level of students' abilities and giving examples that are easy to remember and familiar among students. Besides that, there are also problems with Arabic writing by teaching Arabic writing theory and frequent Arabic writing exercises and good guidance.Third, the problem of individual students is that teachers must be more sensitive to the various backgrounds of students starting from their culture, scholarship, language and personality so that teachers can convey material and be absorbed and then well understood by all these diverse students.Fourth, problems that come from teachers by making them aware and continuing to motivate themselves about the importance of developing language skills and skills for every teacher teaching Arabic by frequently conducting research or writing articles related to learning Arabic and frequently attending related training by developing the capacity and quality of Arabic language teachers so that make teachers more competent and master the material being taught
